We currently have an opening for a Maintenance Mechanic (Journeyperson) at our Gilroy corrugated plant. This facility manufactures corrugated packaging products for local and national customers. We are looking for motivated individuals who are capable of performing a multitude of functions in a flexible, fast-paced production environment. Our workplace requires individuals who understand the needs of the business while maintaining a focus on safety, customer satisfaction, quality and productivity.

Specific responsibilities include maintaining production equipment to optimize run-ability through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of machines. Candidates for consideration should have troubleshooting skills in industrial, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical failures and the aptitude to correct those failures. Accurately completing administrative documents and following directions are important work traits. Candidates must demonstrate technical experience, reliability and the ability to work independently. Welding, machining skills, boiler operation experience is a plus. Basic PC operating skills required to enter the work order data and parts inventory. Some working at heights will be required.

Minimum qualifications for consideration are a high school degree (or equivalent experience) and five years of maintenance experience with at least one year with the same employer. Highly-qualified candidates would possess a technical degree or apprenticeship certification and maintenance experience in the corrugated industry or similar manufacturing environment.

Work schedules are based on seniority as this is a union shop. Currently a three shift operation with weekend work. Availability for overtime required.
