Background: The Charlotte Retail Display Center Graphic Designer is

responsible for the visual graphic design and illustration of point-of-

purchase displays, packaging, and related products. Provides graphic

Key Functions:

Qualifications:

• BS or BA in graphic design or equivalent experience preferred.

Three to five years of experience in retail display graphics, general

graphic design, or a packaging/point-of-purchase related industry

strongly desired. Strong portfolio that demonstrates creative flair as

well as technical proficiency required.

• Advanced knowledge of graphic design software (Illustrator,

PhotoShop, Form Z 3-D modeling software).

• Knowledge of the packaging design, corrugated, or alternative

materials and experience in point-of-purchase industry (display, retail

packaging, consumer products).

• Knowledge of flexographic, digital, or offset printing as well as

manufacturing processes. Understand the entire design process from

packaging equipment used by our customers and vendors. Work with vendors

to assure tooling components are correct and materials are available to

support customer orders. Responsible for checking incoming quality

conformance of cutting dies. Make formal or informal client

presentations with Sales or individually regarding packaging or display

concepts. Communicate with other packaging designers within

International Paper’s Retail Experience Network as well as areas of the

business to learn of new designs or techniques. Participate or lead

design project teams as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS:



Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Design or Engineering or related field

preferred; strong portfolio required. Five or more years point-of-

purchase experience strongly desired. Must understand the entire design

process from concept, prototype, testing, and production. Advanced

knowledge of Artios/CAD applications and strong PC/computer

skills. Solidworks experience a plus. Knowledge of standard cost systems
