following all safety rules and practices;- conducting safety training and performing safety observations; - leading manufacturing associates, and serving as coach and counselor regarding professional development and when situations arise that affect associates' job performance; - supervising manufacturing associates, including assigning work, monitoring the quality and quantity of production, and reviewing and approving production runs and quality records; - making decisions regarding the quality of materials and products; - establishing work practices, and training manufacturing associates; - purchasing materials, parts, and supplies as required; - conducting regular meetings with all associates to provide quality and performance feedback, address operating issues, provide training, and work on continuous improvement projects; - implementing quality improvement and cost reduction ideas; - organizing resources (crews / orders / tooling) for maximum productivity and throughput; - resolving issues that hinder production quality and quantity; - insuring that associates perform required inspections and tests; - insuring that equipment is cleaned and maintained; - maintaining teamwork with other associates; - maintaining work areas to plant standards of housekeeping; - monitoring compliance with environmental regulations and programs; and - performing other duties as assigned by the converting department head
