Description:

Perform procurement function at the Texarkana Mill to secure goods

and/or services for the facility in accordance with purchasing policy

and delegated authority so as to maximize total value received and

produce results that contribute to the meeting of the facility’s

business objectives. The position reports to the Manager of Purchasing.



Key Responsibilities:

• Will work closely with MRP Buyer in Memphis concerning

replenishment orders

• Responsible for processing Inventory Stock Requests

• Provide prompt and professional purchasing services to internal

customers by communicating effectively with the Operating, Engineering,

and Maintenance areas

• Promptly handle requisitions to ensure stable supply and timely

availability of materials and services

• Ensure purchased goods and services are of acceptable quality and

meet established specifications and requirements

• Recommend new suppliers based on quality, service, and

competitive pricing

• Obtain maximum value for IP regarding cost, quality, delivery and

service levels

• Support Corporate and Regional MRO agreements consistent with

Global Sourcing direction

• Ensure adherence to IP Corporate financial and purchasing

policies and procedures

• Actively participate in mill safety programs

• Assist mill team members as necessary to improve reliability and

maintain quality



Working Conditions:

• Must be able to wear all required personal safety equipment

including but not limited to eye protection, hearing protection, and

footwear protection.

• Will be assigned weekend duty on a six week rotation.

• Pulp and Paper Mill experience preferred.

Industrial/manufacturing experience required.

• Effective Written &amp; Verbal Communication Skills

• Proficient in Computer Use

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel,

Word, Power Point, Access and Outlook

• SAP Business Software Knowledge Preferred

Description:

The PL range for this position is PL 11-13. General responsibilities

include:

• Provide leadership for Pulp, Power, &amp; Woodyard hourly employees

working a southern swing shift rotation.

• Meet Productivity targets by establishing clear goals,

providing

requisite resources to direct reports, ensuring proper equipment

care/maintenance, and engaging the work-force.

• Achieve safety goals by following defined safety procedures,

encouraging involvement, following up on safety concerns, and modeling

proper safe behaviors.

• Enhance employee engagement by providing leadership and

direction to the shift. This includes listening and responding to

employee issues, taking decisive actions, recognizing excellent

performance, and holding employees accountable for undesirable

behaviors.

• Meet quality/waste goals by ensuring all direct reports are

properly trained on their equipment, following proper manufacturing

procedures, performing requisite inspections, and following up on

suggested improvements.

• Effectively communicate both up and down the organization on

key issues (e.g. performance feedback, employee issues, overtime,

etc.)



Qualifications:

BS Degree preferred, but not required

3-5 years experience leading people in Pulp, Power, or Woodyard
