International Paper has a limited number of openings for summer work at its Binghamton container manufacturing plant located at 1240 Conklin Road, Conklin NY 13748. These positions are in the production department of the facility.

These openings are seasonal in nature beginning June 11 and continuing through Labor Day. Preference is being given to full-time students currently enrolled in a 2 or 4-year College.

Applicants must be 18 years old, high school graduates and have evidence of their college enrollment (transcript, tuition receipt, class registration) on their first day on the job as applicable.

Candidates must have a legal right to work in the United States and will be required to complete documentation verifying this fact.

These openings are a result of vacation load of regular, full-time employees. Candidates must be willing to work with a variety of production equipment and on all three shifts.

Although every attempt will be made to normalize and provide advanced notice of the schedule, the number work hours and assignment of a shift cannot be guaranteed; summer employees are expected to be flexible and available for assigned work and overtime.

The entry rate of pay for summer employees is $13.53 per hour; In the event a summer employee works in a classified job, they will get the rate for that job per contract stipulations.

It is understood by the Company, the Union and all applicants that this is seasonal work and not considered a permanent position with the Company. As a result, summer employees do not receive company sponsored benefits and do not accrue seniority.

Candidates selected for summer opportunities are required to pay an initiation fee and dues to the local union, USW Local 1186 after 30 days of employment.

Summer employees will be selected based on previous experiences, interest in this type of work, references, reliability, focus on safety, quality and productivity.

Physical requirements of the job may include, but are not limited to standing for extended periods of time, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Summer employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check, drug screen (results must be an unqualified negative), and completion of a post-offer physical by our company doctor.
