International Paper’s Charlotte Container Plant located at 5419 Hovis Road, Charlotte, North Carolina, is a manufacturer of corrugated packaging. The position of
New Hire-Corrugator assists operators in processing corrugated sheets according to written specifications/diagrams and prepares product for the next operation. The candidate for the New Hire job classification must be able to:
Pass a pre-employment test, drug screen, health assessment and background check
Successful candidate must be available to work second-shift (3pm – 11pm) with overtime and occasional week-end work.
Must have a good attitude with willingness to learn. Work cooperatively with peers, supervisors and in a team environment.
Must be responsible to the department supervisor for the quality and quantity of work produced.
Operates the control panel for the down stacker.
Make designated quality checks on all orders including checks for multiple outs.
Report any non-conforming specs to the Knife Operator.
Discard any waste generated from paper changes as well as any defects observed throughout the run.
Moves plastic tubes into place to receive stacks of sheets.
Properly marks each stack of sheets with the correct identification.
Releases loads for the stock handler.
Maintain good housekeeping.
Reports any safety hazards and unsafe acts to the department supervisor. Abide by safe working practices and policies, work safely and wear necessary personal protective equipment.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with no air conditioning or heat.
Constant standing, walking and reaching at or below shoulder level, frequent twisting, bending and lifting from the ground, repetitive lifting up to 20-50 pounds
Have strong problem solving abilities and attention to detail
Extract and input data via computer and perform and record accurate reading of measurements
Previous experience in an industrial manufacturing environment preferred. High school diploma or GED preferred.
Pay rate for the successful candidate is $15.5144/hour with benefits package available.
