Maintenance Technician 3
Plant Superintendent and/or Plant Manager
Safely and efficiently perform maintenance tasks to minimize unscheduled downtime.
Administer preventative maintenance scheduling while all safety policies are followed.
Umbrella responsibilities of all employees:
Assist and support implementation of EHS initiatives and strategies to reduce risk including but not limited to the areas of: OSHA, ergonomics, injury / illness reduction, hazard communication, environmental, emergency preparedness, and general employee safety
Supports LIFE areas, Safety Leading Indicators and Global Program Elements
Ensures a clean and safe work environment
Adhering to Plant policies and guidelines
Working safely and looking out for the safety of those around them
Following Safe Reliable Methods (SRMs) or Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) or Recycling Safety Verification Procedures (RSVPs)
Maintaining a safe and clean work environment according to plant housekeeping standards
Attending and participating in Plant safety meetings.
Managing controllable costs through proper equipment, tool and consumable usage
Reporting any safety or maintenance concerns
Diagnosis and Trouble shoots all equipment on site
Interacts regularly with supplier(s), including scheduling and assisting with pricing
Manages preventative maintenance program including 100% operator compliance, documenting and saving all files related to maintenance.
Perform root cause analysis for any abnormal conditions/failures, take required corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence of such conditions (include operators in analysis as needed)
Perform welding and fabrication
Perform brick laying, laying concrete and experience in framing
Perform minor electrical tasks
Repair and maintain all dock levelers, scales, railings, tile, basic plumbing and cabinetry
Ensure all maintenance and Company compliance guidelines are followed
Ensure daily reports are accurately completed, submitted and/or inputted as required
Ensure maintenance housekeeping meets plant standards
Maintain adequate supply of pre-approved chemicals ensuring neat and orderly storage including proper labeling
Report safety concerns to management
Participate in safety and environmental audits
Requests PO’s through normal channels
Advises PS and GM on all current and upcoming maintenance needs and projects
Other duties as assigned
Personal Protective Equipment
Gloves, approved safety glasses, safety vest, hearing protection, hard hat, steel toed boots.
Equipment Operated and Monitored – will be able to operate the following.
Shredder / Shredder Baler
Electric power tools ( grinder, cordless drill )
Other maintenance tools and equipment
Information collected and exchanged
