0.1 Forklift Driver locate and transport corrugated stock to the converting machines, and perform other service functions to support converting operations.
0.2 Truckers report to the converting shift supervisor for the shift to which they are assigned.
1.0 Primary FL Driver duties / responsibilities include:
1.1 - following all safety rules and practices;
1.2 - reading factory work orders, converting schedules, and other documents to learn customer requirements;
1.3 - locating and conveying stock from in-process storage areas to the converting machines;
1.3a - bringing other than corrugator start-up stacks to the machines to start runs;
1.3b - obtaining the machine operator's direction for orienting / turning stock;
1.4 - operating conveyor transfer carts;
1.5 - maintaining organized in-process inventories;
1.6 - communicating line-ups to other shifts;
1.7 - working with shipping associates to obtain stock from sheet and/or finished goods storage areas as needed for converting operations;
1.8 - conveying nonessential stock to alternate storage areas as needed;
1.9 - keeping the supervisor informed of any problems and/or unusual situations;
1.10 - maintaining work areas to plant standards of housekeeping;
1.11 - maintaining teamwork with converting machine crews and other associates;
1.12 - following prescribed practices in all circumstances; and
1.13 - performing other duties as assigned by supervision.
2.0 The qualifications for truckers are the ability to perform the duties / responsibilities of the job with or without accommodation; the ability to read, write, and speak English; the ability to accurately read a measuring tape and ruler; the ability to use basic shop math; the ability to learn; and the ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of a team.
