Provide operation of woodyard equipment to facilitate the purchase, storing, loading, and re-haul of pulpwood and logs to company facilities and including the dealing with independent wood suppliers and their loggers and truck drivers.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work safely and follow all safety rules; wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and actively engrain to our safety culture to include, but not limited to:

  • Have a safe attitude

  • Follow all OSHA and Company safety policies and regulations

  • Must wear and become certified to use all required PPE

  • Hard Hat

  • Hearing Protection

  • Foot Protection

  • Safety Harnesses

  • Lock-Out/Tag-Out

  • Must be able to operate and maintain woodyard equipment which may include, but is not limited to:

  • Knuckle-boom loaders

  • Man Lifts

  • Tractors

  • Hauling Equipment

  • Dump Trucks

  • Backhoe

  • Front-End Loaders

  • Any other log-handling equipment

  • Maintenance and Repair Activities: Demonstrated ability to safely and professionally perform routine maintenance and assist in mechanical repairs to the above-mentioned equipment and the proficient use of hand and power tools.

  • Ability to work within a team framework.

  • Interpersonal skills that enhance the “team” approach to work and problem-solving.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

  • Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required to include, but not limited to:

  • Weight/Scale trucks

  • Maintain reports/records on computer equipment as required

  • Perform downtime maintenance repairs

  • Sprinkler and water-pipe installation, de-installation, and repair

  • Complete maintenance and inspection reports

  • Perform clean-up and housekeeping activities

  • Must be able to work in extremely adverse conditions with high degree of irritation from moisture, hear, cold, and dust.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours including unscheduled overtime, weekends, and holidays.

  • Must be willing to perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Will be reviewed with candidates prior to filling vacancy to ensure candidate can fulfill requirements.)

  • Work requires variable amounts of time sitting per shift; up to twelve hours.

  • Climbing may be required for maintenance and repair of equipment.

  • Work may occasionally require physical effort in lifting items in teams of more than 100lbs. Occasionally considerable effort is required to move a heavy part in place or lift a heavy tool (up to a 51+ pound range).

  • Required movement may include, but is not limited to: carrying, twisting, kneeling, bending, crawling, reaching, balancing, lifting, pushing, and pulling.

  • Walking distances of several hundred yards while carrying maintenance or service tools
