We are seeking an Electrical Reliability Engineer with experience in equipment troubleshooting including motors, variable speed drives, digital control systems, PLC’s, Networks, electrical power distribution, control valves and various other electrical systems. A successful Reliability Engineer will be able to interact with all areas of the organization. A Reliability Engineer’s primary responsibility is to improve the reliability of our manufacturing operations. They are to eliminate production-limiting failures from our process and increase the life of our assets. A Reliability Engineer focuses on overall process reliability of which equipment reliability is a major component. They must work hand-in-hand with maintenance and operations while being able to communicate effectively with suppliers, sales engineers and technology support. Daily, they will collaborate with operating and maintenance leaders to support the MWS process in the area. In crises, they must be able to provide good technical direction and pull together a corrective action plan quickly.
A successful Reliability Engineer will improve the reliability of our manufacturing operations by working through sustainable processes that will accomplish the following objectives.
Improve maintenance work efficiency by applying Precision Maintenance Techniques.
Improve maintenance work efficiency by supporting the MWS Team in choosing the right work at the right time.
Improve PM Route execution and effectiveness.
Guide efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, facilities, control loops and safety/security systems.
The Reliability Engineer will report to the Mill Reliability Leader with a strong working relationship with the Area Maintenance Manager and Business Unit Manager.
The Reliability Engineer will have three principle responsibilities:
Develop and refine an area’s Preventative, Predictive and Condition-based reliability Programs in a systematic, professional manner.
Develop solutions to chronic repetitive failures by analyzing data and implementing the necessary corrective actions to resolve these chronic failures.
Support and provide expertise for capital project(s) development.
Equipment Reliability Strategy
Criticalities Assessment Owner. Lead Development effort and keep criticalities current.
Owns maintenance strategy. Reliability Engineers are responsible for defining, developing, administering, and refining the equipment care programs.
Predictive Maintenance: Develop quality PdM routes, modify routes when changes need to be implemented, and ensure communication is effective between core teams and technicians.
Preventative Maintenance: Develop quality PM routes, modify routes when changes need to be implemented, and ensure communication is effective between core teams and technicians.
Lubrication program: Ensure motors are properly lubricated using Ultrasonic grease guns, that spare motors are listed on the BOM’s, and are rotated quarterly.
Support Core teams: Help resolve technical issues or repair procedures as required, coach maintenance FLL’s as needed, EPD oversight, Precision Motor Program, IEPM, MWS Team participation, and Failure Elimination.
RCFA Facilitation: Champion the use of RCFA for the area. Does not lead all RCFA’s, but, ensures engagement of workforce, proper root causes identified, and action items are completed.
MWS Work participation: Participate in prioritizing Area work orders through the use of Prime-sorted backlogs, coordinate priorities with operations, ensure Management of Change (MOC) is utilized when necessary, ensure proper preventative maintenance shutdown work is completed, and ensure annual outage work is executed in a high quality manner.
Participate in Capital Plan and Repair Plan development.
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
5+years experience at manufacturing facility
Strong technical and maintenance background
Ability to manage and lead multiple projects
Proficient with Microsoft and SAP-PM Applications
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Must have good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels
Strong leadership skills
Strong presentation skills
