We currently have an opening for a Starch Maker at our Lithonia Facility. We are looking for a motivated individual who can function in a flexible, fast paced production environment. Our workplace requires individuals who understand the needs of the business while maintaining a focus on safety, customer satisfaction, quality, and productivity. This facility is in the process of moving to a 24/7 production schedule. The Starch Maker will be assigned to one of the 2 night crews (7p to 7a).
Primary starch maker duties / responsibilities include:
following all safety rules and procedures;
making batches of starch and verifying starch quality;
operating singlefacers to produce high quality and high quantity output;
adjusting medium roll stand and preconditioner settings for both singlefacers;
adjusting liner roll stand and preheater settings for both singlefacers;
helping the slitter operator determine optimum run speeds;
helping the doublebacker operator;
helping on other parts of the corrugator when the machine is down;
-checking waste water levels
maintaining clean and organized work areas;
completing accurate records; and
performing other duties as assigned by supervision.
Starch Maker reports to the Corrugator supervisor
A high school diploma (or GED) is required. One to two years’ experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is required. Experience in the corrugated or converting industry is preferred, but not required.
