The successful candidate will support capital development team to direct the creation, the development, testing and the implementation of automation hardware, software and HMI equipment. In addition, the successful candidate will be the direct supervisor of the Capital Project Control System Engineers and Instrument Check-Out Team.

Scope:

  • Review and Scope of Control Resources for major capital projects, FEL 1, 2, and 3.

  • Coordinating and facilitating the development and review of control narratives

  • Work with SME’s to create and enforce Standard programming structures and graphic utilization (minimum set of graphic delivered per package)

  • Ensure clarity in documentation for engineering and operations

  • Ensure completeness of deliverable documentation to include: Operating narratives, logic, graphics, loop sheets.

  • Manage/oversee implementation of control code

  • Coordinate functional testing with contractors and SME’s (pre-iFAT)

  • Coordinate control demonstration with mill personnel (iFAT)

  • Enforce inspection and testing guidelines with contractors and mill personnel

  • Manage team/s of check-out engineers and contractors during control systems construction and commissioning phases

  • Enforce compliance of QA/QC process

  • Review or approve services vendor/supplier selection

  • Coordination calibration of high end instrumentation with SME’s.

Skill Requirements

  • Proven ability to facility large teams of diverse positions and skills

  • Strong Process Control background and experience with diverse control systems and paper mill processes

  • Commitment to travel 50-60% domestically and internationally

  • Ability to complete task with minimal supervision

  • Good written and verbal communication skill

  • Ability to engage persons of diverse background and culture

  • Lean/6s process knowledge
