New Hire/General Helper-CORRUGATOR
CANDIDATE MUST BE ABLE TO PASS ENTRY LEVEL MATH, READING, & MECHANICAL APTITUDE TEST, PASS DRUG SCREEN, HEALTH ASSESSMENT, & BACKGROUND CHECK.
WORKS ROTATING SHIFTS, WEEKENDS, & OT. Standard workdays may be 8, 10, or 12 hour shifts. Breaks are determined by Supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED preferred, 2 years related experience in an Industrial Manufacturing environment
SUMMARY: The New Hire/General Helper may be responsible for functioning in the following positions:
Operates the large paper shredder and waste compactor that binds corrugated waste into bales
Fill in all positions as qualified at Corrugator and/or in Converting on any shift
Required to learn Transfer Car operation as needed
Required to learn how to drive Power Industrial Trucks
Machinery can run up to speeds of 1,000 fpm and is equipped with knives, slitter blades,
belts, and die cutters. Employee works in close proximity to electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, gravitational, and mechanical energy sources.
Umbrella responsibilities of all employees:
Adhering to Plant policies and guidelines
Working safely and looking out for the safety of those around them
Following Safe Reliable Methods (SRMs)
Maintaining a safe and clean work environment according to plant housekeeping standards
Attending and participating in Plant safety meetings.
Managing controllable costs through proper equipment, tool and consumable usage
Reporting any safety or maintenance concerns
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Turns on the baler and waste collection system fans.
Cleans Baler Ram Daily
Brings corrugated and roll wrap waste to shredder (Hogger) and feeds it into machine.
Monitors the baler compactor and restocks and rethreads it with wire when needed.
Removes completed bales of waste from out feed of baler and places bales in storage until ready for shipment.
Loads bale waste for shipment when needed.
Maintains good housekeeping in baler room.
Practices good safety habits in all aspects of this job.
Employee is required to handle a utility knife regularly.
Assists Operators and other areas of the Corrugator as needed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration, fumes, or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical current. Plant temperatures can range from 50°F to 110°F with seasonal changes. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
