  • Provide business, operational & technical expertise for information technology solutions utilizing mill information systems & assets with a primary focus on continuous improvement of paper production, quality and manufacturing cost optimization.

  • Responsible for technical leadership, as well as the coordination and implementation of new and existing enterprise/business/operational technologies.

  • Responsible for developing project plans, as well as lead and execute key leadership tasks within a project plan.

  • Responsible for communicating and coordinating communications among all interested parties. Key customers include technical and business groups, plant operators and supervisors, and mill management.


  • Understand the current and future operation implications of a decision or course of action.

  • Communicate with business/technical leaders, facility leaders, and other IT business partners

  • Collaborate whenever necessary with Business Information Management Leadership- Manufacturing to ensure proper planning and execution of project deliverables and change efforts as well as coordination of service and/or support activities

  • Ensure the necessary IT operating model practices (i.e., timely involvement of necessary ITSS and Center resources, PDP usage, project phase gating, etc.) are known, practiced, and measured.

  • Develop a deep working knowledge of the businesses’ key strategic issues and objectives to properly identify possible implications and opportunities

Responsible for:

  • Defining and delivering technical solutions to complex manufacturing business problems

  • Ensuring IT standards are followed in order to provide extensible, cost effective business solutions for the North American Papers Group and International Paper

  • Collaborate with mid-level and senior management to lead application, technical, and process improvements within the manufacturing environment


  • Knowledge about industry operational processes, systems, and best practices.

  • Knowledge of mill systems and plant floor integration.

  • Recognized for bringing innovation and change to reality.

  • Significant technical discipline.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, or related field with IT focus preferred

  • 10+ years’ experience in the paper manufacturing environment and/or high uptime on-line processing environments

  • Experience in successful IT project management

  • Proficient written & verbal communication skills; presentation and training delivery skills.

  • Must have the ability to travel as needed. Travel monthly, up to 30% of the time.
