This position provides accounting and analytical support for North American pulp and paper mills and select converting facilities. This position is part of the Global Financial Services organization and will have the following key accountabilities:

  • Participate in the locations’ financial closes by leading and executing a portfolio of centralized close activities.

  • Calculate and post general ledger entries and ensure financial transactions are properly recorded in compliance with company policy and GAAP.

  • Manage account reconciliation activities for the locations.

  • Assist locations in reconciling SAP inventory balances to PPR-OMEGA inventory balances and resolving any issues.

  • Complete various reporting requirements for governmental entities, trade associations, and internal organizations.

  • Participate in the development of the location’s annual operating plan by providing financial analysis support.

  • Assist and support the locations’ financial staff by providing routine and ad hoc analytical support, as required.

  • Ensure that applicable internal controls are followed in each area of responsibility.

  • Assist with creating and optimizing standardized processes for the new centralized GFS model

Competencies / Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration. Accounting strongly preferred.

  • Fundamental understanding of pulp and paper mill operations.

  • Strong understanding of SAP and the Supply Chain Operating Model as it applies to cost accounting and the financial close process.

  • Strong understanding of financial accounting and GAAP.

  • Strong familiarity with data extraction and compilation tools such as BW, BEX, Crystal Reporting, etc.

  • Good oral and written communication skills
