The Regional Buyer in Global Sourcing Procurement Operations will function to execute sourcing processes on a regional basis to capture value in under-leveraged spend categories. The position will have a high focus on manufacturing services and capital projects, but may also be involved in sourcing categories for MRO and Raw Materials. The position will work to identify sourcing opportunities working in conjunction with the Regional Procurement Manager (RPM) and the purchasing organizations at the primary mills. In addition, the position will also support position transitions, safety and other projects across the IP mill system. The successful candidate may be located at the corporate office in Memphis, TN, and will work sourcing projects across all regions. The position will report to the RPM.

This role will sit in one of the following States: TX, LA, AL

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Executing all phases of sourcing for regional contracts including development of bid packages, negotiations, and implementation planning

  • Assist RPM in identifying opportunities for regional contracts

  • Deliver value by identification and implementation of regional contract opportunities to realize significant savings on an annual basis

  • Engagement in mill capital projects which are less than $500K or greater than $500K as delegated

  • Compliance with all purchasing policies and procedures

  • Ensuring new suppliers meet contractor qualification requirements and are set up in the system

  • Support Procure to Pay, Unifier and Truck Driver Safety initiatives

  • Resource to help supplement mill storeroom resources as appropriate or required

  • Position may lead or support regional or local sourcing events outside of home geographical base

  • Must be able to wear any and all required personal protective equipment as required by mill and work environments

  • Position will require travel estimated at 50%

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Industrial experience required, Integrated Pulp & Paper Mill experience preferred

  • BA or BS degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering or related equivalent work experience

  • 3 – 5-years facility buying and negotiation experience, including service agreements

  • Microsoft Suite – especially Excel, Word and Power Point skills

  • SAP R3 including Materials Management and Business Warehouse

  • Primary manufacturing facilities knowledge

  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, products and services

  • Knowledge of contracts, commercial terms, business law

  • Global Sourcing Policy and Procedures

  • Strong analytical skills including spend and supply market analysis
