Purpose of the Position: The Senior Tax Advisor position is involved in all aspects of Federal income tax provision, compliance and research. This position will report to the Senior Manager, Federal Tax Compliance and Reporting and is a key member of the team responsible for the Federal income tax filings, tax provision, and support of tax planning initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Continuously look for ways to improve processes, increase efficiencies and improve the quality of the team’s work product

  • Assist in the preparation of the quarterly and annual Federal tax provision process

  • Assist in the preparation of the Company's Federal corporate, partnership, fiduciary and excise tax returns on an as needed basis

  • Prepare responses to IRS audit inquiries

  • Partner with non-US tax group and state tax group to stay informed on issues impacting non-federal jurisdictions

  • Participate in special projects such as research and development credits and investment tax credits

  • Research, analyze and interpret tax laws and provide written memoranda on various value added projects and transactions

  • Develop tax technical skills and gain an understanding of the reasoning behind Company’s book/tax differences

  • Maintain accurate and complete working papers supporting all Federal tax positions

  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of all key software tools

  • Stay current with Federal tax legislation and actively participate in learning activities as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

  • Minimum 3 years of corporate income tax experience with a large corporation or CPA firm

  • Strong organizational skills & attention to detail

  • Strong communication skills - both oral and written

  • Advanced Microsoft Suite knowledge (especially Excel)

  • Ability to travel 10%

  • Team-player, eager to learn

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Taxation

  • CPA License

  • Minimum 5 years of corporate income tax experience with a large corporation or major CPA firm

  • Previous experience reviewing and directing the work of others

  • Working knowledge of ASC 740

  • Experience in OneSource Provision/CorpTax Compliance
