Job Purpose

To receive, grade and distribute material to the proper processing area that allows for maximum upgrade potential while ensuring accuracy of customer receipts.

Umbrella responsibilities of all employees:

  • Assist and support implementation of EHS initiatives and strategies to reduce risk including but not limited to the areas of: OSHA, ergonomics, injury / illness reduction, hazard communication, environmental, emergency preparedness, and general employee safety

  • Supports LIFE areas, Safety Leading Indicators and Global Program Elements

  • Ensures a clean and safe work environment

  • Adhering to Plant policies and guidelines

  • Working safely and looking out for the safety of those around them

  • Following Safe Reliable Methods (SRMs) or Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)

  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment according to plant housekeeping standards

  • Attending and participating in Plant safety meetings.

  • Managing controllable costs through proper equipment, tool and consumable usage

  • Reporting any safety or maintenance concerns

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete pre-start forklift maintenance inspection report (or VCR)

  • Complete daily production sheet accurately recording tons received for sort line and shredder

  • Record and input into MRS (Material Receiving System) weights, bin count and bin sizes for each customer

  • Complete daily customer receiving log (bin counts, tote counts by customer).

  • Forward daily customer receiving log to Operations Specialist for daily entry matching/reconciling

  • Pushing shredded material from shedder baler into bunker.

  • Dump non-sort material into bunkers

  • Dump sorting material across sort line

  • Inspect/tag equipment (bins, totes or other containers) for:

  • Damage

  • Maintenance needs

  • Proper company logo

  • Identification/specification labels

  • Assign a trained shredder to shred on an as-needed basis

  • Validate data accuracy before end of shift by matching driver customer receipts with MRS entry receipts

  • Ensure that driver has provided accurate customer name and address information on all equipment received, if this information is not present report the issue dispatch for correction

  • Assist with the training of Sorting personnel with respect to grade training.

  • Complete daily weekly monthly PMs for Shredder, Floor Scale debris cleaning.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Containers are monitored in the event they may need to be repaired or cleaned before sending back

  • Communicate with dispatch when trucks arrive/leave

  • Communicate with floor lead – maintenance issues, downtime, production issues

  • Communicate with Supply Representative on any issues with supplier contamination, change of material type received or MRS grade family discrepancies

Training/Registration/License/Certification requirement

  • Paper grade training

  • Shredder safe operating procedures, Lock out, Tag out procedures

  • Computer operation including MRS software knowledge

  • PM process for Shredder

  • Floor scale cleaning process
